Ochlockonee Bay United Methodist Church affirms that God’s grace is available to all. We have been ministering to the people of Panacea since 1973. Within eight years of our founding, our church property was secured and the construction of our sanctuary was completed. The first service was held in the building on July 12, 1981. In 1986, the church name was officially changed from Panacea United Methodist Church to Ochlockonee Bay United Methodist Church.
Our church congregation is comprised of long-term residents of Panacea, along with people who split their time between this area and other homes. We welcome all to join us, whether you are looking for a new church home or are visiting the area and looking for a place to worship while you are nearby.
Our church pastor is the Reverend Cheryl Mixon Cruce, who joined us in 2022. She is committed to leading an engaged and dynamic congregation that is involved, committed, diverse and open. We are a group of people who are accepting, caring, hospitable, and inclusive. Our church is both family and community oriented, concerned about those beyond our networks around the world.
